On 25 November 2010 the SA Rooibos Council hosted a Rooibos Science Café in Johannesburg.
Everyone that attended was welcomed by Donnée MacDougall, the Director of Marketing for the SA Rooibos Council, and given an overview of the Rooibos industry.
The morning proceeded with a discussion on Rooibos and Skin Cancer, the potential of Rooibos to prevent and slow down the disease, by Professor Alvaro Viljoen, Tandeka Magcwebeba and Professor Jeanine Marnewick.
Next on the agenda was Rooibos research in South Africa and around the world by Marina Joubert.
Last but not least was a discussion on Right Rooibos, a new way of caring for people and the environment.
The day was a great success and very informative.
